Letter from the Heart #1: The Bible is for All
“This isn’t your typical devotion. It’s a cry from the heart of someone who truly loves God—and hope for others to know Him too.”
When I tell you it breaks my heart into pieces, I mean truly. Humanity’s carelessness in placing little to no value on the Holy Word of God, the Creator of the universe, is devastating. My heart cries for hours, overwhelmed with sorrow at the thought that the Bible is often viewed as just a feel-good book, full of fluffy words or fairy tales. Somehow, the truth of Scripture has been distorted, misleading billions of minds and hearts into dangerous misperceptions.
I understand that believers and non-believers have different perspectives on the Bible. But what saddens me most is how many only focuses on the phrase “God is love.” It’s the version of God humanity prefers—the one they’re willing to accept. Because of these three words, many cling to the belief, “I’m going to heaven at the end of the day,” as if love alone overrides truth, justice, or obedience. To some, God has become nothing more than a
spiritual ATM.
It amazes me how the mind plays the role it plays in our thinking, decision-making, and beliefs. We are naturally drawn to comfort, convenience, and beautiful things. The mind is a wonder, yes, but it can be dangerously deceived. I pray daily with a tender heart that society will begin to prioritize God’s Word over worldly comforts and fleeting pleasures. Alongside other disciples, I carry a deep sorrow for how people across the world continue to reject and misunderstand the truth of the Bible. I am learning to love what God loves and hate what He hates. My feelings are valid, and they have a voice. How can one not be heartbroken when they know the reality of the Narrow Road and the Broad Road?
Another devastating blow is knowing that billions have inherited false religions, false prophets, and false gods. Many are born and raised in homes where parents taught them lies—not out of malice, but because they too had been misled. Add spiritual blindness to the mix, and it becomes almost impossible for the heart and mind to receive the truth of the Old and New Testaments.
Even worse is the stubbornness of the human heart—the refusal to believe, the rejection of God’s Word, in part or in whole. Jesus, help us!
Can you imagine the pain God feels when His children curse His holy name and treat Him with open disrespect? We must reach a point in our spiritual walk where we truly hate what God hates and love what God loves. Every single day, God extends His mercy and grace—but don’t forget His justice. Remember The Great Flood. Remember Sodom and Gomorrah. These weren’t just stories, they were divine responses to sin. Judgment is real. Grace through faith offers eternal life, but rejecting truth leads to destruction.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NIV) “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
