It’s The Weekend!

Before You Plan Your Weekend, Examine Your Soul.

What is it about the weekend that makes people lose their minds? It’s almost treated like a national holiday. People make plans — which club to hit, which house party to attend, what outfit to buy, who to hook up with — and let’s not forget the excessive drinking.

It almost reminds you of the days of Noah:

“For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark.” — Matthew 24:38

But here’s the truth: God still sees what we do on the weekends. Jesus, who received all authority from the Father, will judge His people — not just on Sunday morning, but on Friday night and Saturday night too.

Stop acting like that’s not the case.

Statistically, more sin is committed on weekends — not because the calendar is cursed, but because of the mindset people carry. Culture says, “You worked hard all week. You deserve to play.” But that doesn’t mean sin is excused.

Let me ask you: Is there anything wrong with a Friday night where a group gathers to read the Word of God? To pray for the broken, the hurting, the least fortunate? To meditate on God’s goodness and encourage one another to pick up their cross daily?

Surely, there’s nothing wrong with that.

So instead of planning a wild weekend, think of Philippians 4:8:

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”Philippians 4:8

People need to change their mindset — and adopt the mind of Christ.

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 2:5

This Friday morning, from what I can see, God has once again withheld His divine judgment and extended mercy. Thank You, Lord, for giving us another day — another opportunity to repent and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

It’s amazing to me that as sin intensifies in today’s culture — especially now with AI on the scene — God does not change His mind toward sinful people. He continues to extend mercy and grace.

Friday is not a time to plan which party we’re going to or which date we’re going on. It’s a time to reflect on your life, examine yourself daily, and repent.

Be careful not to abuse free will. It can come back and burn you.
