Devotional #5 – The Spirit Empowers Us

Acts 1:8 (NIV)
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses

God is incredible in all His ways. From the beginning of creation, when He chose to make man in His image, He knew sin would threaten His sons and daughters—and that a Helper would be needed. That Helper is the Holy Spirit.

One of the ways the Holy Spirit assists us is by guiding individuals, equipping believers to live boldly for Christ, and empowering obedience and witness. God does not expect Christians to live a holy life in our own strength—we simply cannot. Yet many believers live spiritually weak lives because we have not tapped into the power of the Holy Spirit, who dwells within us to strengthen us daily.

Too often, we live independently, relying on ourselves and our own abilities. But we were never meant to walk alone.

Let us be bold witnesses for Christ—with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Reflection Question

In what areas of my life am I relying on my own strength instead of tapping into the power of the Holy Spirit?
