I want the Truth this Time.
I want the Truth this Time.
In a desperate cry for truth, sixteen-year-old twins Michael and Mikala found themselves living through their own kind of hell. Side by side in life’s trenches, they carried unanswered questions—haunted by emptiness and confusion about purpose and wondering why pain seemed to follow them. They often said they held no unforgiveness in their hearts—only a deep ache from not knowing their past.
The twins had never met their biological parents, even though they lived in the same city. How could two people lose so many years of their lives without ever learning the truth about their beginnings? Their lives were marked by emotional struggles, developmental challenges, and health issues affecting the heart and mind. Much of their childhood was spent in hospitals, sitting through doctor visits, MRIs, and therapy sessions. Over time, they began to piece together fragments of their story from what they overheard in those sterile rooms.
Years later, their search led them to both grandmothers—one from their father’s side and one from their mother’s. They arranged to meet in a nearby park, expecting gentle conversation, but what started as a talk soon felt like an interrogation.
In frustration and pain, the twins shouted, “We want the truth this time!”
After ten long hours of honesty, the waves of secrecy began to settle. They finally learned that both parents had struggled for years—moving in and out of juvenile centers and jail since the twins’ birth. Their lives had been consumed by darkness, unable to overcome the demons that bound them.
Through tears, one grandmother whispered words of hope: “God can restore the years that were lost.”
The other, trembling, asked for forgiveness, admitting she hadn’t done enough to seek or save them when she had the chance.
At that moment, the truth wasn’t just about their past—it was about God’s redemption.
“The truth is…”
John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Joel 2:25–26 – “I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten... You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God.”
Matthew 6:14 – “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”
“The truth is, we all need help—because we are sinners in need of the Father's love, the Son's Word—Jesus—and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”
